Positive ion sampling studies have been conducted on DC discharges containing percent sulfur dioxide in helium. Measurements were made for normalized gas pressures from to Torr and discharge currents from 5 to 40 ma.
Ion species observed included so+, s+, so+2, so+3, o+, and o+2. Mass spectrographic studies have been conducted on the positive ions and neutral species of glow discharges containing pct so2 and pct CO in helium. Measurements were conducted for gas pressures from to Torr using both DC and hz ac excitation.
